Welcome.
Thank you for taking your time to visit my little corner of the internet. Should you like to know more about me, the following paragraphs give a brief outline of my background and may give you an insight if I'd be a good fit on your team.
What's with the funny name?
Please call me Ben.
As for my last name, its a Scottish name and we pronounce it like the word sure without the "s."
I grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and have since moved to Cleveland, Ohio.
What's your background?
I fell in love with story telling in data about six years ago. I was working at the Social Security Adminstration and processing complex claims benefit information. One claimant called and asked for an explaination as to why his benefit was $1 less than he believed it should have been. Ever since that phone call I've been looking into new ways of exploring and communicating data.
Ever since I can remember I've enjoyed hearing and telling great stories. Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and Data Visualization, play a huge part in that. While my full-time work is to remain private for obvious reasons, this website is my creative outlet to explore the topics of Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and Data Visualization.
Using data to accurately tell stories and communicate the past, the present, and the future in a honest and engaging way, is paramount to a business' success. Currently under construction, my website is the natural extension of open-source projects, hobby projects, and artwork I've found not only interesting, but highly worth sharing.
These are the projects I've worked on with publicly-accessible data. Everything in this bucket is public information and available as the listed source
The projects listed in this bucket are those projects that aggregate, concatenate, or conglomerate data from various sources into visualizations not available elsewhere.
This bucket holds pieces of data visualizations that I found interesting. It is designed to be a tool for those also in data science, data analysis, and visualization.
This bucket represents the opposite end of my spectrum. Open-Source projects represent the conservative, traditional data analysis and Business Analysis. While this Art section, includes my original artworks, that use multiple data visualization techniques as a medium to a static final artwork.
